Kay WunderlichAFL's 2008 Recipient The Advertising Federation of Lincoln is pleased to present the 2008 Silver Medal for outstanding contributions to the advertising profession and the community to Kay Wunderlich, National Sales Managers at KLKN TV-8. Kay started her association with the Lincoln Advertising Federation in 1988. She served on the AFL committee that created the Nebraska ADDYs more than ten years ago. This monumental event joined the annual ADDY Award ceremonies of Lincoln and Omaha for the very first time. Kay served as club president in 1999. That year the AFL won "Club of the Year" at the Ninth District AAF conference and went on to win AAF Club of the Year honors in Division II at the national convention. Kay was also honored as "President of the Year" for the Ninth District. She was then elected to the Ninth District board in 2000 where she served on and chaired various committees. Kay was the first employee hired in Lincoln at KLKN television in 1996. She is currently National Sales Manager and before that was regional sales manager and local sales representative Kay has been an important force in growing the revenue at KLKN-TV8 over the past eleven years. Kay is an active member of the Lincoln community. She is member of the Lincoln Board of Realtors, Lincoln Home Builders Association, YMCA and both Lincoln and Omaha ad clubs. She recently served as the chair for the Go Red for Women American Heart Association event held annually III Lincoln. Kay played an important role as a committee member in getting Automatic External Defibrillators into the Lincoln Public Schools. Kay lives on acreage south of Lincoln with her husband of 18 years, Jim. She has three children, Rebecca, Rachel and Michael and one granddaughter, Hannah. Past Silver Medal Winners CRITERIA TO RECEIVE SILVER MEDAL AWARD: 1. CONTRIBUTION TO HIS/HER COMPANY. The nominee must have achieved success in one of the following areas of work: advertising agency, advertiser, media or advertising service company. 2. CREATIVE ABILITY. The nominee should have shown a high degree of creative, original thinking in whatever phase of advertising he/she works. 3. CONTRIBUTION TO THE ADVERTISING INDUSTRY. The nominee should have worked to increase the stature and raise the standards of the advertising profession. 4. CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY. The nominee should be active in civic, religious or other community groups dedicated to some phase of human or social welfare. 5. MEMBER OF THE ADVERTISING FEDERATION OF LINCOLN. The nominee must be a paid member of AFL and have served on the board &/or participated actively in committees and events. |
