Minority Report: September 2007
Multi-Language Search Strategies

AFL's 2007-2008 Public Service: The Autism Family Network
There are no medical tests for diagnosing autism. An accurate diagnosis must be based on observation of the individual's communication, behavior, and developmental levels. Several screening instruments, such as the CARS rating system (Childhood Autism Rating Scale) and the Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (CHAT), have been developed that are now being used in diagnosing autism. With early diagnosis and intervention, the cost of lifelong care can be reduced by two-thirds.
